I absolutely love with a capital L the beach. So when friends said Let’s Go To The Beach Ya’ll, I was all in. However, this was my first RV Trip of this distance. My trip would start in Richmond, Virginia and end in Myrtle Beach.
My GPS indicated the trip to Myrtle Beach would take more than 6 hours. Folks, I am not ashamed to say I was shaking in my flip flops. I was scareder than a puppy in a room full of toddlers.
So how did I get over my fear. Funny story about that is that I didn’t. I was trembling the entire trip. Mr. negative thought kept saying you will be too tired, it is too far, but the beach was calling my first, middle and last name. I needed to smell that salt and dip my red tipped toes in the Ocean. So, I overpacked the RV and hit the road.
And then it happened! I made it!
How did I do it?
When my friends said Let’s Go To The Beach Ya’ll – I did not think I could make the long trip. How did I do it?
1. I Listened to my RV
I took my time. And then a magical thing happened. The RV started talking to me. No I had not eaten any “special” cookies. The RV has indicators suggesting when I should take a break. Shucks! I was flummoxed. But I listened to the RV and turned off the road for a break when it told me it was break time.
2. I used an RV GPS Tool
My new bestie RV Trip Wizard whispered, “how tall is your rig sugar”. I answered 11’6. And then it asked many other personal RV questions like weight which is none of your beeswax! Anyway, this sweet tool told me what to do every step of the way. My response was YES, YES, YES! But that friends, is another story.
3. I accepted Help
When I arrived at the Resort I was greeted by the owner who just happened to be near the entrance. He helped me park. Backing up was not one of my favorite tasks. Actually I hated backing up and would circle the site to find a way NOT to back up. So when Mr. Owner helped me to get into the site I was a fan for life!
Let me tell ya’ll about this location.
Barefoot RV Resort is located in North Myrtle beach, South Carolina. With spacious paved sites within walking distance to the beach or shopping this is a favorite. Since I do not have a tow vehicle, walking or biking distance to adventure is a huge benefit. And that is exactly what I did; I rode my bike or walked my feet to the beach, grocery and shopping.
Location, Location Location
Nearby activities also include laundry facilities, shopping, a nail salon and an ABC store all within walking distance. Barefoot Landing is a tourist spot with restaurants and shopping. Visitors can rent a golf cart to be delivered to your site. I am not ashamed to say I was too cheap on my first trip to rent a golf cart and rode my bike everywhere including the laundry.
On my second trip to Barefoot RV Resort, I rented a golf cart and felt decadent. However, I did have to circle back on my way back from the grocery store when some items fell to the floor of the golf cart and then rolled off onto the parking lot. If you saw me just let it go, OKAY?? Let’s pretend it never happened.
Why Do I Love The Barefoot RV Resort?
I love it for all the reasons above. Walking distance to the Beach, shopping, grocery, paved sites and vested owners make this spot one of my favorites. I will definitely be back.
Thank you for sharing your time with me. Are you in the process of planning your very own great adventure? Tell me a little about you and your plans. Until then much love and safe travels.
